These dance performances to applaud during the Paris 2024 Games

MeríDio is the name of this show performed by six women from Cyprus, Italy, Greece, France and Bolivia. In Greek, this word means "to share", and sharing is the theme of all their choreographies. They showcase their differences, their cultures, their styles, and together invent a new way of dancing the world.

There are four of them, and they dance to their heart's content. The Quai 6 troupe has devised a choreography that prompts us to question the place of each individual within a group. A dreamy reflection, carried by a quartet accustomed to artistic performances about the individual and his or her role in society.

The title ICI, là-bas refers to Georges Perec's text Ellis Island, in which he describes the island near New York City through which many migrants passed before landing in America: "Ellis Island is (…) the very place of exile, that is to say, the place of the absence of place, the non-place, the nowhere". The Frichti Concept company is no stranger to choreographic surprises. They take over a public space and improvise, taking spectators into account. Dance and readings of Olympic texts: their performances make for a highly participatory show!

The Ballet 4 Chemins company invites us on a journey through time. From Louis XIV's minuet to contemporary dance, the company promises to retrace the evolution of dance and take the audience on a journey through varied choreography and familiar melodies that make you want to take part in the show.

Head to the Terrasse des Jeux on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre) to witness a grandiose moment that's sure to make you want to sway your hips and let the star in you speak. Lasseindra Ninja, a leading figure in voguing in France, has created a show where inclusivity, self-acceptance and celebration are the watchwords. If you're not familiar with voguing, it's a dance style that originated in New York in the 1980s. It's all about letting loose and taking charge!

What if we all danced together, with each other? That's the message behind the Sauf le Dimanche collective's new show Vu. Choreographed around the theme of support and guidance, the sighted and visually impaired dancers come together to explore the all-important notion of unity.

Swing, boogaloo, charleston and twist! The Streetside company offers a trip back in time with a retro show entitled Boogaloops. The three dancers, equipped with their luminous hula-hoops in the colors of the Games, will be accompanied by four musicians. The merry band is planning a friendly, rhythmic stroll. It's up to the public to dance along!

It's a big first for breaking, which makes its appearance as an additional sport at the Paris 2024 Games. If the discipline is not renewed at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, this show is an opportunity to feast your eyes! For that, we're putting our trust in the Unartctout company, which will be offering six battles to the cheers of the crowd!

Choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira wants to surprise us with his show Fantasie Minor, in which he adapts Schubert's emblematic work to hip-hop. The two dancers take to the stage and pit their movements against each other in a battle set to classical music. There are no longer any boundaries between classical codes and hip-hop spirit. Resolutely audacious!
